Escape to the Bedroom

Our world is run and dictated by technology. It's vast, it's fast and it's utterly important. However, when it comes time to relax, kick back, and let your brain have a rest, it's important to be able to go to a place where distractions are limited. A place where you can rest and close your eyes without being bombarded by your news feed or trash TV.

Aside from the obvious reasons, your bedroom should be your escape. Better yet, it would best suit you if it were technology free! Why you ask? Below are our top 5 reasons why your bedroom should be all about finding your Zen!

1. Better Sleep
Studies show that the more TV people watch before bedtime actually yields less sleep. I'm sure you've heard about the 'device glow' coming from our cell phones, tablets and TVs that actually make it hard for us to power down. If you never turn it on, there won't be a fight and you'll be able to climb into your bed after a long day and catch those Z's.

2. Better Conversation
For couples, some of your most cherished, intimate and best conversations will take place in the bedroom. If you have a laptop in your lap, you're less likely to have the words flowing. Converse! We are humans not robots. You will feel better after having both casual and deep conversations with your partner, and it will make laying your head to rest that much easier.

3. Reflection
Evenings provide valuable opportunities for us to reflect, evaluate and asses our day. You may think you don't have time for this or think it's stupid BUT by doing this we grow as individuals and learn from our mistakes. Who cares about what Kim Kardashian is doing - What are you doing?!

4. Meaningful Mornings
Some of us out there... most of us out there, wake up and immediately check our social feeds. The morning is the last time of your day where you are fully in charge! You don't have to listen to your boss yet. You don't have to check or answer emails yet. And you surely don't have to check how many likes you got on your selfie from last night. Try waking up and saying "mornings are for ME". You have the choice to decide how you want to start your day but you will most likely feel more refreshed spending that time on yourself verse your Facebook.

5. Rooms Have A Purpose
Of course, I saved the best for last. All rooms in your house serve a purpose (well they should)! Kitchens: Cooking, Dining Rooms: Eating, and Offices: Working. The more you can define those rooms, the better their purpose and your productiveness become. The last thing you want is clutter and though multipurpose rooms are good for your home, your bedroom should not be one of them. Your bedroom should bring about better sleep, relaxation, and intimacy.

Remember, the email can wait. When it's time to head to the bedroom, it should be your escape! Questions, Comments, Concerns? We want to hear from you!
